XPRV2022, XPRV2022A

Product Description

The XPRV2022A photoreceiver module is a very high-gain single-ended front-end with a typical 3 dB bandwidth of 35 GHz. This enables OC-768 / STM-256 system operation over a wide wavelength range as well as transponder application. A high-conversion gain of 500 V/W allows system applications without optical preamplification and consequently a wide dynamic range for an optical input power between -13 dBm and +4 dBm will be achieved. This demonstrates the very large dynamic range of the receiver. An automatic control of the output voltage by an integrated feedback loop optimises the performance in the frequency and/or time domain with respect to different optical input power. At an optical input power level of more than approx. 0 dBm the output signal starts to saturate and remains constant up to +4 dBm. The receiver module incorporates a waveguide-integrated pin-photodiode (PD) and a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with limiting output buffer. The 16-pin SMD compatible butterfly package is assembled with an Anritsu V connector and a standard single-mode fibre pigtail with usually FC/PC connector. Due to the use of InP technology a low supply voltage and low power dissipation is achieved.
