XPRV2021, XPRV2021A
Product Description
The XPRV2021A photoreceiver module is a single-ended front-end with a typical 3 dB bandwidth of 40 GHz. This enables OC-768 / STM-256 system operation with forward error correction over a wide wavelength range as well as transponder application. A conversion gain of 150 V/W allows system applications without optical preamplification resulting in a wide dynamic range of an optical input power between -11 dBm and +5 dBm. An automatic control of the output voltage by an integrated feedback loop optimises the performance in the frequency and/or time domain with respect to different optical input power. The receiver shows linear amplification up to 1 mW, at higher optical input powers the output voltage swing is limited to approx. 500 mV. The receiver module incorporates a waveguide-integrated pin-photodiode (PD) and a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with limiting output buffer. The 16-pin SMD compatible butterfly package is assembled with an Anritsu V connector and a standard single-mode fibre pigtail with usually FC/PC connector. Other optical connectors are available on request. Due to the use of InP technology a low supply voltage and low power dissipation is achieved. A DC-coupled version without blocking capacitors is available upon request (XPRV2021).
