Dr Olaf Eggers, Finance Manager
Dr Olaf Eggers is responsible for finance and managerial accounting at u²t. He has more than ten years` experience in strategy development, business planning and financial administration of high-tech companies. At Schott Glas he was responsible for financial analysis in an international business development project with a multi-million-dollar budget. Prior to this he was a management consultant and was involved in the successful launch and investment of a new venture capital company in Berlin. Olaf studied business administration and mechanical engineering in Berlin and Vancouver and received a doctorate in innovation and technology management.

Jens Fiedler, VP Sales & Marketing
Jens Fiedler joined u²t in October 2006 and is responsible for sales and marketing. He has 12 years of experience within the fiber optics industry. He received his degree in electrical engineering (Dipl-Ing.) in 1994 at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences for Business and Technology and started his career at Siemens with the fiber optics group as Production Engineer. Starting in 1997, he had responsibilities in the areas of project and product management for various projects and products up to 10 Gb/s. From 2002 he headed the Concept Engineering department working on future technologies and rapid prototyping. His last position was the director of Sales and Marketing at MergeOptics GmbH in Berlin.

Dr. Carsten Schramm, VP Engineering
Since January 2005, Dr. Carsten Schramm has been responsible for the engineering division at u²t. This includes the production of ultra-high-speed photodetector and photoreceiver components as well as the related engineering processes. Previously, he managed the u²t product development team for five years aiming to build leading-edge OE products from the definition of specifications to the product launch as a basis for the existing range of products. Prior to working at u²t, he was with Fraunhofer Institut für Nachrichtentechnik HHI as development engineer in various projects. Altogether, he has over 18 years`experience in the field of high-speed optoelectronics, III-V materials and heterostructure analyses. He has a degree and the PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.

Martina Junge, Quality Manager
Martina Junge joined u²t in October 2006 as Quality Manager. With a degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) she worked for several years as Project Leader for ISO 9001 implementation and as Quality Manager in international companies. Her last position was at Motorola Networks & Enterprise as Quality Management Coordinator where she also certified as Six Sigma Green Belt, internal quality auditor and supplier assessor. With more than seven years previous background in quality assurance/management, Martina is experienced in process optimisation, continuous improvement programs, auditing and reviewing processes, as well as in quality tools and techniques.

Jörg Dunzel, Procurement Manager
Joerg Dunzel joined u2t in August 2007 as procurement manager. He has about 20 years experience in logistics and strategic procurement as material planner, buyer, and commodity manager at Siemens AG, Communications and DeTeWe AG & Co.KG. Most recently, he worked as procurement engineer at Siemens Mobile and Siemens BenQ Mobile, respectively. He is a certificated Bachelor of Materials Purchasing and Logistics by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Berlin.

Heinz Kuntze, Manufacturing Manager
Heinz Kuntze joined u2t in September 2008 as manufacturing manager. He received his degree as mechanical engineer, Dipl Ing (FH), in 1980 at the "Fachhochschule Nürnberg", and started his career in the Siemens energy and automation group, where he worked for 11 years as industrial engineer, in Germany and Brazil. He has planned and introduced production-lines in the areas of Hybrid- Technology, assembly-lines and injection - moulding and stamping-technologies too. He is trained and experienced in REFA and MTM. He managed various industrial engineering projects in Siemens plants in Asia and Latin America. In the following 16 years he assumed positions as production and logistics manager in Germany and Portugal for various German companies in the precision mechanics and optics industry. He headed the production department for the slide-projectors at "reflecta GmbH" , a management-buy-out from the AGFA-Company with 350 workers, and created the Logistics department for LEICA Portugal, introduced there the ERP-software SAP with the Material management and the production module.
