The three founders of u²t worked together at Fraunhofer Institut Nachrichtentechnik Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI) for more than ten years before they founded u²t as a spin-off company of HHI. u²t`s long-term R&D partnership with HHI ensures continuous innovation for the applications of the high-speed future. u²t personnel has direct access to the indium phosphide semiconductor facilities of HHI for epitaxy and wafer processing.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung - BMBF) gives u²t financial support for its various research projects. The latest project is called "MultiTeraNet".

Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics (KSOP)

The M.Sc. in Optics & Photonics at the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics (KSOP), Universität Karlsruhe (TH) offers an innovative study program for international students. Part of the course is an elaborated internship program in cooperation with industry partners.

Scholarships of 800 Euro per month are available.
