u²t Photonics AG is the leading supplier of ultra-high-speed optical detectors and receivers for 40 Gbit/s and beyond. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, the company develops, manufactures and sells its products not only to vendors of communication systems but also to manufacturers of test and measurement equipment, as well as research laboratories.
The company was founded in 1998 by Andreas Umbach, Günter Unterbörsch and Dirk Trommer as a spin-off company of Heinrich-Hertz-Institut für Nachrichtentechnik Berlin GmbH (FhG-HHI) to meet the upcoming demand for the components they had developed.
